One Year.
For those upperclassmen or graduating seniors who feel like God may be calling them into full-time international ministry and want to try it for a year or two, or who are looking for a missions opportunity that is longer and more immersive than a summer, Cru offers Stints (short-term international missions) in various locations around the world. Our Cru Central Coast students and alumni generally go to our partnership locations in East Asia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, but we will happily talk through all of the possibilities with anyone interested in finding out more. Depending on the location, days usually consist of language learning of some kind, in addition to direct ministry and time together with your team. There are also plenty of opportunities to get to know the people and culture of the location, to travel for conferences, learn through training, and just to explore that part of the world.
Local Internship: You can play a role in helping people know Jesus and walk with him for a lifetime here. Whether supporting current Cru Central Coast movements (CP, Greek Row, Faculty, Epic, Hancock, Cuesta), or helping us launch where we aren't -- interns join us for 1-2 years to help achieve the vision of every student and faculty on the Central Coast knowing someone who truly follows Jesus and having the chance to follow him themselves. Would you join us?
Headquarters Internship: Use your areas of study or developed skills to build and accelerate the mission of Cru as we work to give every person in the world a chance to experience, hear and respond to God's love and good news. Wherever you serve with Cru, you'll be developed personally, spiritually, and professionally as you engage in God's mission for the world.
Working in one of Cru's offices, you could be using your skills in business systems, communications, conferences/trips/events, creative, finances, fund development, human resources, justice/humanitarian aid/legal, marketing, music/performing arts, partnerships, prayer catalyst, research & development or technology to advance God's kingdom.
Central Asia: Over the past 20 years, the global Christian church has seen more growth in this part of the world than anywhere else. We have had the great privilege of partnering with a very specific part of this area, sending teams made up of students and alumni to serve for 1-year missions, to give lift to the ministry that is already occurring there.
Team members spend time each day learning the language and practicing their language speaking skills with new friends they meet. Through the friendships they form, there are many opportunities to have conversations about culture, faith, and to share the gospel. Team members are often able to help new and younger believers grow in their faith by praying and studying the Bible together. In addition to time spent in language lessons and direct ministry, the team has many chances to explore the cities and local culture, and to connect with each other.
Southeast Asia: In recent years, Epic has sent students and recent grads on week long vision trips in the Winter, 6 week summer missions and one year internships, working on local universities and partnering with local staff.
